Problems frameserving with VirtualDub and TMPGEnc

I'm trying to frameserve from VirtualDub to TMPGEnc. I've followed the user guide "How to frameserve using VirtualDub" which includes how to use TMPGEnc.

The problem I have is that when I open the 'video.vdr.avi' file in TMPGEnc I get the error 'could not open, or unsupported'. What am I doing wrong.

did you try this:

1 - did you install the plugin for TMPGEnc?
2 - when frameserving, try naming your frameserve file: video.vdr not video.vdr.avi

Thanks for the ideas.

A combination of using 'video.vdr' and going back to an older version of VirtualDub (1.4.9) has fixed my problems.
