MTV downloading frustrations

I'm trying to download this video from MTV: https://www.mtv.de/musikvideos/m0m0b0/american-dream

I've Googled and searched and looked through any threads here mentioning MTV, but everything I try doesn't work. I'm overwhelmed by results that either confuse me or software suggestions that do not work. I'm very frustrated and it's making my brain shut down. Issues I will not get into. If someone can please directly help me, I would be grateful. I do not want to spend money on software for this one video. Thanks.

I managed to download a 720p file of this video using Video Downloader Plus Chrome extension, and the file is over 100mb, but it won't play. Is there some way to convert it?
