  1. Hello everyone,

Thank you for having me - I just joined and must say I'm amazed about the quality of the content and users you have here. Enough of the sweet talk - let's get to the point.

I was wondering if there are some of you who are using this software (pro version) to be exact? I found it to be very useful (especially the link finder expert feature which helped me to see the videos on sites that normally were not picked up by any downloaders or screen grabbers). I have a trial version which only downloads first 5 minutes of the video and in the lowest quality.

Before buying the full version I was wondering if someone could help me out and test if the full version of this movie could download content in 1080p quality just like the advert says it would?

I would provide the link etc. Just was curious if somebody is using this software and can recommend it.

    Thanks a lot in advance,
    Cheers!
    Deczkin

  2. Looks like SPAM to me..........

You dont need to pay for any software that will download protected or unprotected streams from source, its all open source.

  3. I wanted to download a movie from the Criterion Streaming collection. It's an old classic from 1927 but very hard to come by. So far I only found it there. It's an MDP dash protection stream so normal "video downloaders" can't handle it. Rarely one of them "sees" the video but so far cannot "grab" it. If it's also so open source can I have a link to a guide or tutorial on how to use the tools you guys are using? I really wanted to have this gem in my collection. To be honest I own that movie on a DVD but the CC version has a copy in 1080p so I would really love the upgrade...

Share login info via private message and I'll have a look.
I always wanted to see CC and if they have some unique tricks up their sleeves for preventing downloads.
It's most likely Widevine and you can most likely get keys for decryption using getwvkeys.cc
You need ytdlp for downloads, mp4decrypt for decrypting, ffmpeg for joining video and audio.
Spend a few days reading this forum and you'll get the hang of it.

  5. Thanks! Feel free to log me out of my devices (there's a limit of 3 at a time). Most of them were used in the streaming capture tools to grab the "direct" link so that quickly fills up.

Yeah - the VPN is needed to create an account. But after that, you can log in and watch the content from anywhere.
Your post put me to ease a bit. I was thinking I'm into some serious business right there with Criterion since even screen recorders go black trying to capture the image while playing a movie from their site. I know I could probably use the search option to find what I'm looking for but it's a bit extra hard for me. I've using a computer for years but command-line tools like the ones you are using here always escaped me. I already encountered a topic where devs for FFmpeg change some commands and the scripts might not work? Or I am just messing things up by being a noob? Anyway, I would be grateful for pointing me in the right direction (a guide?) to solve my case. Thanks for listing up the tools! I will check them as well but I also believe there's nothing wrong in asking for a better way despite already knowing a good one. Thanks once again!

I'm getting this on notaghost's site

    Error 404: {"error":{"code":-7008,"message":"[-7008] Failed to generate Widevine license"}}

Currently not much time to investigate further.

  10. Assuming I managed to download the file...
I believe it's encrypted or corrupted (I'm hoping for the first option) because when I open it I don't see any picture or sound playing but the length of the file when opened equals 2:37:36 which corresponds to the length of the movie in question. The picture is sometimes black sometimes grey with green artifacts.

Could someone quickly verify if this is the real thing? How could I encode it to "see" the movie itself? It's an MP4 file I have btw...

You dont want a complete mp4 - you need the 2 separate dash streams of an mp4 video and m4a (or aac audio) - download separately then - decrypt separately then mux the 2 decrypted parts tog with ffmpeg or mkvmerge mate

Did you try decrypting with the key I gave ? Although the process does not / will not work on a 'complete' mp4

I can investigate further over the weekend if necessary or HMU on discord

@[ss]vegeta why arent you using pywidevine or wks mate ?

    The key didn't work.

I finally found time. I get the same error with Pywidevine.
Not using headers though, gave a key.
    Code:
    4ed669bf03fa89bf967ede6fb80e5a5e:a159645e71c9650f2fecbf6dab3a8f54
So, prolly it will work with notaghost's site just headers need not be used.

Oh! Didn't know that. Downloading videos "this way" is quite new to me.

No, I did not - just installed python, bento4 tools, and set up environmental variables. I know it's slow like I said - the process itself is completely new to me. It's my first encounter with widevine protection and video streams coming in parts (dash), split into two parts - video and audio separate. It's quite overwhelming I must admit - especially when we add this DRM protection in which we also need to obtain a key and encrypt it. Total magic for me at the moment. Previously I never had any problems like this - any video I wanted I just grabbed using one tool or another with a GUI so it was a straightforward operation: Copying the link, paste it where it needs to be, and hit the download button.

    Thank you very much! I really appreciate the help - from both of You. I believe @[ss]Vegeta is onto something? And believe me - I don't want to be a burden - dropping in and saying - please download that video for me and be gone for good. I really wanted to do it myself but so far my skills are far behind yours And I must admit - I want to learn how you do it. This bypassing drm's, compiling the source video and audio files from dash parts is kinda awesome and exciting at the same time. I would love to be independent in this :}

Thank You Bro! Like I said above - I really appreciate your help on this.
I just love this movie and have some great memories related to it. Having to see it in 1080p means a lot to me.

If I had a little more experience or knowledge I wouldn't be bothering you with this. But now I owe you a big one! Thank you once again for finding some time for me and this particular case. I'm really really grateful!

You sure? In my screenshot the image is black because of the drm but the player controls are visible and 1080p is there.

Also - using that Chris's software from the beginning -> I can select two audio tracks (in the browsers there's no such option) but all the resolutions are there to choose fromL

I was also using Chrome and only 720p. I'll check again later.
