How to fix this problem in Subtitle Workshop 2.51?
Some of the streams of the movie could not be rendered correctly. Probably the audio or video codec is missing.
This problem occurs when a .mkv video file has subtitles embedded, usually the MKVToolNix GUI program is used.

This is the problem! The corresponding subtitle filter, xy-VSFilter, is missing.
I was able to resolve all errors that occur with codecs, or lack of codecs, by installing the following programs:
1. Install K-Lite Codec Pack Standard
2. Install xy-VSFilter
3. Install the best Subtitle Editor, Subtitle Workshop 2.51
*** I prefer the version that has been discontinued v2.51 because it is lighter. When you click on a subtitle with the same name as the movie the program opens faster than the recent version 6.x
