I am using Windows 7 (64 bit) and old movie maker (I think it is 2012).
I am trying to make an instruction video.I have watched a couple of you tube tutorials so after importing my video there should be a 'record narration'
icon illuminated but there is not?
On the video volume bar (on the left) the image for the left-hand speaker appears to have a red mark next to it (possibly a question mark!)
Can anyone tell me what I have done wrong?
Actions prior to this I accidentally clicked on the'Switch Sound Converter File Converter' (in the Hidden Icons). I switched it back again straight away by clicking on it again.
I also deleted backing music for a few seconds by minimizing the video volume by moving it to the left. When I checked it again it was in the middle again, although the red mark was still over the image of the left speaker!
I have enabled my logitech microphone & headphones.!
I am now lost and I haven't got a clue to do! I have had the recording voice-overs working in the past so clearly something I have done wrong. If you can help me please do. because I don't have enough ability to solve this problem by myself. Thank you.

That's a new issue for me. IF you still have your original source material try to start over without switching on the Sound Converter, whatever that is. I don't remember any Sound Converter when I used the old Movie Maker. Maybe that introduced a glitch.
