Hi Guys (and girls),
I try to use Chaptergrabber. But the second it opens the chapters from a Blu-ray file, it close down again. I tried to use it on my Windows 7 PC but same results.
Apparently it needs an API to obtain from a site called chapterdb.org. but that site is not in operation.
Also tried older versions of the program, same results. What am I doing wrong?
thanks for your help with kind regard from a sunny Holland,

Try chapterdb.plex.tv - this is an archive from the old chapterdb.org.

Hello and thanks for your reply.
I looked on that site. But I just don't see how I can produce an API on that site.
There is no explanation how to make it.
So, I made one a Google maps. But the program does not accept that key.
If you could enlighten me on this?
Thanks again from a sunny peaceful Holland, -
I never used it to produce an API-file, I just downloaded the chapter files to mux with MKVToolnix.
There is a short explanation on https://chapterdb.plex.tv/docs:
"The API has been documented at docs.jarrettvance.apiary.io. You must supply your API key from your account page as a http header." -
Hi again. I always worked with DVD's and now new to Blu-ray stuff. For this I need the chapters in a .txt file in which the times codes are as follows
00:00:00.000
00:06:17.377
00:10:14.906
00:15:26.175
00:24:33.180
00:27:21.723
00:29:15.712
00:34:07.754
00:40:00.690
00:46:44.927
00:54:25.554
00:56:47.404
01:04:05.592
Chaptergrabber is supposed derive them from the .mt2s files and to produces this, but I am just not clever enough to understand how to produce an API on fore mentioned site and to put it in al a key for the program.
So, now I used HdBrstreamextractor. This gives also a .TXT with the chapters in this format:
CHAPTER01=00:00:00.000
CHAPTER01NAME=
CHAPTER02=00:06:17.377
CHAPTER02NAME=
CHAPTER03=00:10:14.906
CHAPTER03NAME=
CHAPTER04=00:15:26.175
CHAPTER04NAME=
CHAPTER05=00:24:33.180
CHAPTER05NAME=
CHAPTER06=00:27:21.723
CHAPTER06NAME=
CHAPTER07=00:29:15.712
CHAPTER07NAME=
CHAPTER08=00:34:07.754
CHAPTER08NAME=
CHAPTER09=00:40:00.690
CHAPTER09NAME=
CHAPTER10=00:46:44.927
CHAPTER10NAME=
CHAPTER11=00:54:25.554
CHAPTER11NAME=
I cleaned out all the unnecessary stuff and use that as basis now.
I also use Mkvtoolnix but this does not give me the wanted .txt file.
Maybe I better stick to the HdBrstreamextractor.
So, again thanks for you help.
As said, apparently I am not clever enough to understand many things. So the only way that what would help is more BRAINS!
Thanks again. -
HD-DVD/Blu-Ray Stream Extractor is fine. Just take the created txt-file and mux it with MKVToolnix (Output-Chapter File).
If you want to change the timecodes, you could use VirtualDub2 for example. Go to the frame you want as a new chapter and note the exact time. You can then enter this in the txt file. -
Hello and good afternoon again.
Thanks for your hints, I will try it.
Thanks again from a sunny and peaceful Holland,
