It all really depends on the equipment used I suppose. what makes it easier is using a monopod. Luckily I can screw my monopod straight into the top of my Panasonic HC-X1500 with or without the handle. this way

with a previous camcorder there was no means of attaching a monopod to the top so. Here I used the normal bottom screw thread and in editing I had to do a 180% turn edit and it still worked ok focus could have been better but this was a tryout
