what external ssd enclosure type is the most stable on ubuntu 64 bit? the issue is stability not. speed. i have 128 gb ssd in a usb 3.0 enclosure where ubuntu 21.04 is installed connected to a macboom pro retina 2013 late. the conector on the inside is sata. when i transcode out of blender to an dpx image to another ssd also in exactly the same setup(128gb sata) connected via usb 3.0 4to1 adapter conector. after reaching 18 000 image files at 1280x720 with half of the disk capacity reached the disk becomes unresponsive and freezes up.
what am i doing wrong? would an nvme and or m. 2 external enclosure with the correct applicable ssd solve the problem? or would it be better to just install the ubuntu on said nvme or m. 2 external enclosure. and just run all my work in there alone?
thank you
