i play movie files on my laptop by using vlc player. when i finish from a movie i press spacebar to pause it and then i do alt file and then exit. sometimes vlc instantly closes and sometimes there is a few seconds delay and then it closes

is this normal? why sometimes there is a few seconds delay before vlc exits?
