Hello,
I'm new to this forum and would like some help finding a video editing software to edit captures from my PS4 Pro gaming.
I'm not new to editing software in fact I own several different editing softwares but they are more than I need for what I want to do now.
I own the following softwares
Corel VideoStudio X10 Pro
Adobe CS5.5 Premier
Movie Edit Pro 2016
The problem with all the above not mentioning they cost me a pretty penny is they are also very difficult to learn if you are just trying to do some basic trimming of a captured PS4 game.
So I am looking for a editing software that is basic and easy to learn, any amd all suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks in advance

What kind of "editing" . Just "basic trimming" ? such as cuts only ? (nothing like filters, fades, overlays, color correction etc...)?
Avidemux, losslesscut -
Yes for now I only want to trim or cut out parts of game play on my PS4, if I need more advanced editing I ahve plenty of software that are top of the line. I just don't want to have to learn editing software that has all the features to cut ond trim only.
I think I will use Movie Edit Pro 2016, looking at it in more detail it looks like it will handle MP4 and it looks easy enough to cut and trim. Just in case I also downloaded OpenShot which looks simple to use for newbies.
Thanks for your help.Last edited by Logicalron; 2nd Mar 2022 at 13:39.

You are doing it the hard way with a non-linear video editor, use losslesscut or avidemux, no learning curve and the fastest possible trims/cuts.
It's not important the problem be solved, only that the blame for the mistake is assigned correctly -
The problem with MEP and OpenShot is they will decode and re-encode the video . You incur quality loss, and it's very slow. Even higher bitrates will result in lower quality because you are re-encoding.
If you cut on keyframes - avidemux and lossless cut are lossless and basically "stream copies" . Very fast, no quality loss, same file size minus the cuts .
For cuts only editing, NLE's are the wrong tool
