  1. Computer: win 10 up to date.

trying to copy DV from a sony dv cam AV 1000 to the hdd.
have installed a PCI adaptor called TanQY three port in the one slot available

Computer recognises camera in device manager under' imaging devices'
IEEE 1394 host controller appears and contains
' 1394 OHCI Compliant Host controller (Legacy)'

Under 'other devices' there is a PCI memory controller and an SM bus controller.
both have an exclamation mark by them.

Device status for both devices says:

'The drivers for this device are not installed
There are no compatible drivers for this device
To find a drive click Update driver'

If you click on driver/driver details it says:
'No driver files are required or have been loaded for this device'

    Under events it says
    'Driver install requested
    driver configured (null)'

    'Device PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A2A1&SUBSYS_86941043&REV_00\3&115 83659&0&FA requires
    further installation.'

'Under 'events' for the SM bus controller it says
    Device PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A2A3&SUBSYS_86941043&REV_00\3&115 83659&0&FC requires
    further installation.'

I cannot get a picture to show with camera player on, camera recognised, Firewire
cable connected, using various capture software packages such as Debut from NHC,
    Scenalyser etc.

Seems the PCI adaptor may be at fault. OR does it have to be enabled in the
EZMode ASUS UEFI BIOS? And what are the two items under 'other devices' in device
manager? Are they in fact required software, though the PCI adaptor is meant
    to be plug and play??

How much easier was this with XP!

    Please advise!!

That's a combo DV/HDV camera by the looks of a Goooogle search. Are you sure you're in DV mode? Scenalyzer (or the others) won't pick up anything if it's in HDV mode.

If you've recorded in HDV, you need HDVSplit.

You'll have the latest Firewire driver if the date for it is 2013.

But these cards did not require drivers since Windows supported them 'out of the box'

All changed with Win10 which removed the drivers in later updates. Search for, and install, Windows 8 legacy drivers - there will be countless links in posts in these forums. If this does not solve the issue then do come back.
