When I watch dvd/vcd on this player, I often notice
colour artifacts, specially when there a flat background,
such as a wall or something.
Does it matter in what way the player is connected to the
tv, for example: scart or tulip? Or is it just a problem
of the built-in decoder of my dvd-player.
Maybe someone knows a way of increasing visual quality or
are there firmware-updates or something.

I have the same problem, but not in all DVD artifacts are visible, I think it depends on DVD disc quality, I'v read many information about artifacts and discovered that it is not a problem of DVD players. Have you tryed to watch the same DVD on other DVD player? If you did, then let me know was there any diference? Where the artifacts visible or not?
