I own a Sony UBP X700 BluRay player. This player allows content
Streaming via USB. One of the issue is that EAC3 audio is for some reason supported in the M2TS container but not MKV.

What is the best way swap containers?

I have tried Avidemix but the .ts file is 0 kB in size.

Xmedia Recode won't do a straight copy - I need to adjust filters and parameters. I have no issues doing this, I just don't know how to best set everything up.

    Try tsMuxeR.

I do wonder if Sony's reason to support EAC3 in m2ts and not mkv, is that the audio would need to be BD compliant. In which case the specs would dictate EAC3 to hold a legacy AC3 track.

My other option is to convert the EAC3 audio into AC3 within the MKV container.

Did you try latest nightly build of tsMuxer? If memory serves correct this will accept EAC3 without embedded AC3.

    Seems to work!

What about being able mux subs? Had to remove sub to complete this.

  10. Another method:

From MKV file, you can extract videos/audios/subtitles with gMKVExtractGUI (needs MKVToolnix to be installed)

Then, extracted video/audio/subtitles can be imported in a bluray-compatible M2TS file with MeGUI (Tools>Muxer>M2TS muxer)

Looks like Xmedia Recode outputs a PGS subtitle file. I will try to remux with this file later today.

Totally forgot that wiki might have some information I may be missing
