Here are screenshots from Netflix show archive81. There are virtually no information of the practice of tape archiving/restoration/repair. If anyone has any info on the tools they use, please post it here. I assume all are custom made.

Splicing block with track inlays for 1", 3/4", 1/2", 8mm,...
Spool winders (in various hub & reel sizes), manual (or a pencil, or sharpie, in a pinch) - a steenbeck could be modded to work.
Demagnetized safety razors
non-fibrous/lint-free swabs and denatured alcohol/freon-tf/modern headcleaning fluid
tape-baking oven
lint-free cloth gloves (chamois? cotton?)
...much more, but those are items used regularly.

I would not say "no info" - any respectable university library science archiving program will have a wealth of info in this area.
