    Hello,

i don't want to download a video, i just want to know the resolution of a video so i can know if a video on a streaming service is in 1080p.
I see on the website "Just Watch" that it is indicated that the show "Beverly Hills 90210" is in HD on paramount +.
But even if the quality of the video is good, i have some doubt about the fact it's 1080p quality. So i would like to check but i have no idea how to find this information. Usually i see that on the m3u8 file but there is no m3u8 on paramount +.

    If anyone can help me.
    Thank you.

You're gonna need to post the main url and not the mpd. In relation to the quality, even the mpd will not help you, it may show a video stream with 1080p, but like many other streamers hosting pre-HD content that could simply be an upscale, and likely not a very good one. You'll need other tools to find out the bitrate and res of an online stream, downloaded it's easy with mediainfo (or similar apps using the same backend.)
In other words, the mpd isn't gonna help you here for what you want to find out with you condition of "i don't want to download a video" you're gonna have to play it on the service and see for yourself, or go to a Beverly Hills 90210 forum (I'm sure there are such things.) and ask there if Paramount+ are streaming at 1080p

    The main url is :
    https://www.paramountplus.com/shows/beverly-hills-90210/video/1C54FFD7-9365-67DF-2097-...0-laying-pipe/

If i understand, to use mediainfo, i need to download the video ? I can't use mediainfo with just the url, right ?

Yep, mediainfo needs the file downloaded. So, unless someone can give you the name of a tool which can check stream resolution and bitrate (i'm sure one exists, whether it'll work on encrypted content is a different story.) You'll need to find out elsewhere.

I guess it's upscaled or only one season in HD.
I wouldn't see the point for old tv series to premiere in HD on streaming service than on Blu-Ray, unless this is soap opera with more than 1000 episodes.
Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, is now in real 1080p on HBOMax, and not available on blu-ray (for example). Same with The Nanny and other shows.
For Beverly Hills 90210, the quality of the video is way better than the DVDs or the Amazon Prime files. But i have some doubt about being real 1080p. For example, i found the Sister Sister and Kenan & Kel rips on a website, coming from Paramount +, and the resolution is 1280x950 - so 720p.
Sadly, nobody got the good idea of uploading the Beverly Hills 90210 episodes, coming from Paramount +, online lol.

decent bitrate but it is a 540p. Better bitrate than the original sd analogue broadcast, and dvd copies. But that's about the only improvement it has over what's already out there.
