    I'm no expert in cinematic arts but at least to me it looks like way too hard of a hit even for a stuntman to take.

    CGI? Or are stuntmen a lot tougher than I realize?

    CGI. I've seen similar scenes many times in the past few years, but never before the era of CGI.
