convert mp4 video into MPEG-4 Simple Profile

Hi,

I have videos in mp4 format.

I need to convert them into MPEG-4 Simple Profile in order to play them on an Archos AV500 portable video player.

I use an Apple Mac running Catalina.

Wondershare UniConverter will do it, and is fast, but it's expensive.
XviD4PSP works on a Mac, but does not convert into the needed format

Does anyone know of any other free video converter that will convert mp4 to MPEG-4 Simple Profile?

Or, failing that, of the Terminal commands that will do it using ffmpeg

Could be done with Avidemux

I tried using Avidemux, but could not find a way to do the conversion to MPEG-4 Simple Profile.

If you know what settings are required, please advise.
