Agree. And there is still the option NOT to deinterlace unless there is a good (technical) reason to do so, like vertical resizing. The TV/player deinterlacers may do a nearly equivalent or visually more pleasing job than some borked QTGMC tweaks with its nearly 100 parameters
And we all know that the best combination is QTGMC with fast preset + Neat Video
How do you think you know what "we all know" ???

That could be because with this custom script of Skiller the "Final Temporal Smoothing" setting or "TR2" is still activated at 1, so it will be doing it's job if you activate it at 1, 2 or 3. I'm doing test with this script and settings of Skiller that we are discussing and I think the "denoising" is not there anymore by putting the TR2 setting to 0.

With that being said, I like to leave the TR2 in 1 like in the original script of Skiller because I find it good and being a very very slight denoise that doesn’t damage any details…

  3. What do you guys think about using in EdiMode “EEDI3+NNEDI3”? Obviously being slower, but is not too slow for a poor Ryzen 5 5500 considering that I also do an upscale to 1920x1440 with nnedi3_rpow2 and Spline144 so it consumes a lot, but in the process I still get at least 10 fps for the cheap low end and quite “old” CPU I have, so…

I’m planning to do a huge upgrade in the next 3-4 years to a new motherboard and a completely new AMD CPU, waiting for those Ryzen “11000” and “12000” Zen 6 and Zen 7.

I guess the sharpness or softness of the static parts like OSDs and text from documentaries, ads and TV sports is something up to every person and their tastes, as long as the text is stable and doesn’t jump like NNEDI3 alone for deinterlace does I guess is not anything bad, but some people might like to have those static parts and letters as sharp as possible so RepYadif or Bwdif in EdiMode is the way for this, but then introduces other issues on moving parts.
