  1. Very difficult to separate the video time line after splitting. Is there a sure shot way to do this?

    This is already split into two, but can not separate it.

    Depends on the editor, and the edit mode (neither of which you specified). More info needed.

    But in general, you select from split point onwards and drag to later.
    Or you fork timelines.
    Or you create a new timeline and select postsplit and copy and paste.
    Probably other options.
