Today I tried doing something I had never done: converting wav files to flac. And I'm getting error.

    This the error I get.

I wonder if it's not a problem with Windows 10 or its latest update.

    Any hints?

  2. The error message says:
Not enough space or not enough rights to write onto the target location

Enough space is not true, but I had tried that same SSD (which is not C) and disk C, with same results.

Now I tried with disk J, and the conversion went through.

So how do I do, the Administrator, do get all my administrator's rights, which seems to be what is happening?

That is something that sporadically has happened in the past and I never learned to solve it properly.

    Thanks, BTW...

  4. Check the access rights of your drives.

I will do that. But for this case I found out another way.

Using this access that provides administrator rights for the program.

    Is that OK?

Why would a GUI flac front-end need Admin rights? That doesn't make sense

I ran the compatibility troubleshooter; it fixed the problem, program starts with a double click and works properly now

Well, if I get access rights on all my HDDs, I won't need Admin rights anymore.

You don't need access rights to write to areas of the disk that belong to you, such as your Desktop, download and documents folder,
    etc, etc

This is not correct. With NTFS formatted disks, each user needs access rights (read, write or both). If the computer is configured correctly, then the user has access.
But if someone has intentionally changed the rights, you have to get access again.

Even if that's so you should use the folder/file security tab
Rather that running simple programs as administrator

    Sometimes, both are required.

From my tests, not even running the Flac program as administrator allows it to work.

Good advice on how to proceed on this is very much welcome.
