When I want to keep NTSC footage interlaced while capturing, I currently either loop through a Digital8 camcorder, using the firewire to capture with DV codec, or I use an outboard DVD recorder and rip the DVD.
I would like to find an affordable USB capture device that does not automatically de-interlace footage. My source footage is NTSC VHS, S-VHS, and Hi-8. Any hardwarer suggestions?

Most capture devices capture lossless AVI de-interlaced as long as you don't use the crappy app that comes with and use vdub or AramecTV, Unfortunately some cheap chinese devices don't work without their own app due to drivers issues so therefore you are forced to whatever file format the app spits out.
