Hi guys,
I am have a Toshiba M1402 12x/40x DVD-Rom drive and am running the latest Adaptec 4.70 ASPI drivers for Windows XP.
The problem is when ANY dvd ripping software tries to begin reading the drive it causes the whole system to reboot. SmartRipper .. DVD Decrypter...all when run reboot the system.
Is there some sort of OS protection that I have to get around? or something else?
Can someone please help me with this... perhaps someone out there has also had a similar issue.
Thank you very much

The problem is the ASPI v4.70 drivers you're using. Get rid of them. It installs 4 files, 2 of them are not needed for XP. It's one of these NOT NEEDED files which is causing your PC to reboot.
Goto: http://clonead.cjb.net (Download Section) and download the ASPI XP driver from there, no more problems then.
