  1. I have a VCD compatible DVD player so I'm trying to convert the SVCD down to VCD, and I tried the trick but it says "cannot create etc. etc..." so I'm trying to do the conversion and when I get to the part when I open the file, the video is fine, but there is no audio at all, and I can only convert into the .d2v file but not the audio file...if I play the SVCD on my comp, everything works fine, but for some reason the audio doesn't work in the conversion process.....please help, and any help is very appreciated!!

  2. make sure audio track 1 is selected

then look on your HD - you will either say a WAV or .mpa file

DVD2AVI results in two files - the .d2v (the video) and a wav or mpa file as the audio

if tmpgenc choaks on the mpa - get BeSwet from www.doom9.org to convert it - or a similar program to convert it to wav

you can also find converters at www.mepgx.com

  3. Thanks for the post Stinky...

but i'm still having problems...because the audio won't even get to TMPGenc, it still won't work on DVD2AVI....I did the process and the audio file comes out to be 0 bytes....the video file is fine, but audio is literally not there...I downloaded BeSweet but I don't know if it'll help...

  4. What is your audio file??? is it mpa or wav -- please when you reply give more info (even if you think we wont need it) - how big is the exported file

if it's mpa - I convert mpa with winamp

I put the mpa in winamp

go to options - prefrences - select output - then change wavOuput to DiskWriter -- hit configure and then tell it where you want to save the wav

close those dialog boxs and then hit play - it will convert the mpa to wav

that is IF you get a mpa (which by your repies is STILL not clear) -- is the mpa file greater than 0 after you run DVD2AVI ? or did it become 0 after you tried to convert it? please I beg of you - give more info when you reply - it makes it that much easier to help you
