Would anyone happen to know how can i record a HLS Live stream which last for 4-5 hours? All the browser extension seems to stop recording and will not continue until the live stream ends. "Video DownloadHelper" is better than most but not stable also. sometimes will cut off at 20 mins and if i do another capture, it will last more like 45min.

I am trying now with VLC's recording on a windows PC. On the browser playback, i can stream properly with no lag, but on the VLC player it's lagging somehow.
Not sure where in VLC setting i must check.

My VLC network caching is 1000ms.

Please post more info without the actual link. I think that's the best way so that people can help you.
We, trying to figure out what's the problem without the actual link, is the best way to go.
It's not time consuming at all and it will be very precise.

I decided to use ffmpeg to download from the live m3u8 link.

    is this just the command?
    ffmpeg -i m3u8 -c copy video.ts
I won't need any other parameters right?
Also once the live broadcast stop, it will auto stop, right?

  5. We cannot help you while you are generalizing and being vague. Post the url and we will tell you if it needs any other parameters or not.

Fyi, vlc uses ffmpeg to record.
