if it wasnt showing miro dc10 in audio properties then you will have to change it to that and recapture
That was Windows control panel you checked right?not control panel of capturing software -
as far as i can tell m8 it is saying miro dc10+ in the control panel unless i'm looking in the wrong place , in which case can you take me through it one step at a time and precise as to where to look . thanx for the help though m8 , i appreciate it very much .

in windows click on start in lower left then settings then control panel
double click on sounds and multimedia
click on the audio tab at the top
on playback set it to your sb live or whatever sound card you have
on prefered recording device make sure it says dc10
if not change it
at the bottom put a check in use only prefered devices
if it is already checked uncheck it and check it again
at the bottom click apply and ok
now try capturing some brief footage then play it back and see if it now has sound
if not check your cables,on my dc30+ the audio cables are always getting loose -

Assuming that you installed sound drivers and you connected the audio cable to the line in socket, your captured AVI file should have video and sound.
You are using Pinnacle Studio to capture, right? Or AVI_IO? Or VirtualDub?
