I really like the quality of this video.
Is it possible to tell what camera was used for recording this video?

My guess is that it was one of the mobile phones that support that kind of video, but it might as well be a different camera
I'd recommend you ask the op -

Check this video, he listed his equipment - this is last 4k video (9 month old), next are 4k and HDR (first is 8 month old).
Introduction of the HDR in his videos may be outcome of the new software or YT (not follow YT features introduction).
If you are interested in decent quality yet affordable true cameras then https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/ may be a good place to start for searching for example https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/blackmagicpocketcinemacamera . -
What video are you talking about? I can't see a video under which he has listed his equipment.
Was the exact model of the camera mentioned? What is it?
His videos from 8-9 months ago are not as high-quality as his latest videos.
I'm particularly interested to know what camera was used for this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZrjDRCozbQ -
Well for some reason (only known to himself) it matters not who asks him this question. He either does not reply or gives a smarmy, almost arrogant, non-response.
Q: Would you mind if I asked you what camera you used ?
A: Yes. I would mind -
Several I-phones are mentioned and un-named Android devices.
Now a strange thought went through my head. Look at the people who the camera-guy passes and you see totally no reaction. One would think that some would object to having a camera film them in a public place. Invasion of privacy come to mind. Unless.....
The camera-guy is a Law Enforcement Officer. (Or have I had too much coffee today ?)

and equipment list (perhaps not as complete as in video i saw first - recommend to check his earlier video's where all gears he use are listed - didn't try to analyze all videos - from my perspective video are artificial with colors pumped up):

It is not need to be a high quality camera. The picture of my My DJI pocket 2 produces better image quality on Youtube than my Sony FDR-AX700 (with the best lens system on consumer level on the market), DESPITE the video quality of AX 700 is far superior when I play the video on my Television which is connected to my PC.
No doubt AX 700 picture quality is incredible when I play it back on my computer, but somehow Youtube works differently.
Pocket 2 has noisy picture, but the high compression of YT erases the noise. Even cheap cameras looks good on YT, and the real qality , the lot of details destroys quality on Youtube. The only exept if you make videos in a rooom with few and small movements, when you sit on a chair. But for street videos the worst quality/less detail will be the winner on YT. Why? Because the low YT bitrate handles the less detailed picture better during continous and high motion content.
That's why I am against Youtube as a measurement tool for camera quality.
The best measurement is the original video file uploaded to a file sharing service.Last edited by Truthler; 9th Nov 2021 at 04:18.

With the right settings almost every 4K camcorder can shoot a good footage, You may get the exact same device and you can do worse.
-
Quality? You mean HDR present and chroma pushed above max? This may be outcome of different video editor or different signal flow or newer firmware in camera not necessarily new camera...
Buy decent 4k camera and go over YT quality - links to Black Magic already provided - perhaps someone on Videohelp can advice more affordable camera if BMC is too expensive. -
I can see that he uses a new camera which looks like a DSLR:

Me too, Youtube isn't a yardstick for anything.
But it's the shooter that matters, the videographer skill, not a camera. There's an old joke about a father asking a photographer what camera he needs to buy so his son can takes photos just like the photographer. I forget the punchline offhand, but I'm sure you can see where this is going. Ridiculous clueless question.
I have a somewhat higher-end mirrorless now, but my video shooting skill sucks. It's me, not the camera. No camera could save me from myself right now. I never considered myself a shooter (my video skills are elsewhere), only minimally competent at shoiting, but I was never this bad. I had no idea that I'm so out of practice.
What an a-hole.
But I don't find his shooting impressive whatsoever. I actually get a headache watching that bobbing up/down of him walking. Even my shooting doesn't suck like that.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

But his DSLR has no ZEISS optics, which is visible of the torsion of the images... You know, the torsion around the edges and corners. However the picture of the ZERISS lenses even on consumer models are flat like an image which was scanned on a flat-bed scanner..... No torsion at the edges and corners......... Anyhow, Zeiss is Zeiss..... That's why I love Sony. Other companies can give you similar quality torsion free lenses only in their very high price professional models....

It is not enabled.
But even my in-camera sharpening has more options than your software sharpeners.

Your so-called "Fantastic" video was shot by an Iphone12.
However Iphone12 has very bad quality in a comparison with a SONY FDR-AX700.

I don't understand your worship of Zeiss. It's just glass. Some Zeiss optics suck, some are decent. Honestly, most of them do suck. Expensive + crappy = double punishment. Zeiss bokeh is different, but I don't really care for it. I prefer Nikkor glass, but I'm not brand loyal. My bag has Tamron, Tokina, and some lesser knowns like Rokinon. I care about the image sharpness, lack of distortion, sometimes bokeh, not the label on the lens. I hate chroma fringing, avoid those lenses.
You know, the torsion around the edges and corners.
Nonsense.
Well, duh. HD camera vs. a phone.Last edited by lordsmurf; 27th Nov 2021 at 22:05.

Zeiss is the oldest still exisiting optics company, and glass quality was always important, the clarity and purity of the materials, quality of gridding, the design of the system, to avoid lens torsion at he edges and corners. Let's don't forget that Zeiss always won the contest in the highest available optics technology at Nasa, the so-called SPACE TELESCOPE lens systems, where you need incredible level of precision .
Neither of the tested cameras of the YT video were HD cameras, they are both 4K cameras. -
Yep, Zeiss is old, and has a very interesting backstory, especially during WWI/II.
But that doesn't mean every lens released is magically the bestest ever. It's no different from any other company. High-end quality to low-end crap. That's just reality.
4K, HD, same difference. High resolution. Many of us still use the term interchangeably. Anything more than SD is HD.
Lots of companies do stuff for NASA. For example, Corning did Kepler's mirror glass. And I don't believe Zeiss has done anything with NASA for 50 years now.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

Hubble Vision 2 is some sort of movie, nothing to do with Zeiss.
That other camera is an ancient Hasselblad from 50+ years ago, and that suit is from a 1960s mission.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)
