  1. Hey just wondering what would be a good and cheap way to gt video out onto a new pc I am building... it will be running windows 98 or maybe linux depending on what i decide... I would just use and ATI card but the computer is a Flex ATX board = "very small + 1 pci slot" and it is in a "book pc case" that equals not enough space for a normal size pci card, it requires smalled pci card eg ones that aren't quite as tall as normal one or low profile.... does nayone know of a solution for this? either like a scan convertor? or a low profile card i could use or maybe a usb type of video out product.. please email me if ytou have ny ideas or post here thanks a lot.

why not build a full size pc?

You could get a scan converter

USB bus doesn't have enough bandwith to deliver good video

  4. I have tried several cards that included TV outs from the following manufacturers.

ATI: 8500 Radeon All in Wonder
    NVidia: Gforce2
    Matrox: G400

Of these three the Matrox has been my hands down favorite for its TV out features. (I would not recommend this card for games). The Matrox is the only card that I used that can send a full screen movie (correctly) to the TV in the movie’s native aspect ratio. The other cards send the entire desktop, this leaves a very annoying letterbox affect on both the top and bottom of the movie.
