Videos uploaded to Google drive should be downloaded first, then played from the PC.
If you want to stream them, upload to Youtube, make them private if necessary,
give your friends the Youtube URL

Maybe the file is a type that Google can't/doesn't display. Use mediainfo to compare them

Too many more... it might not last forever... HUGE carbon footprint these things have, although there's barely a word about it on the relevant Wikipedia articles. (The “Cloud storage” article does have one sentence on the subject, poorly written and unsourced : “The resources used to produce large data centers, especially those needed to power them, is causing nations to drastically increase their energy production. This is leads to further climate damaging implications.”)
In the same vein, Netflix has a carbon footprint roughly equivalent to that of the Lafarge-Holcim building company, growing at a 2-digit yearly rate.
Generally speaking, Internet hosting and streaming services are becoming a major source of greenhouse gas emissions, growing at a much faster rate than any other business in the “material world”, yet it is generally presented in the media as a “solution” for a “cleaner” future rather than yet another environmental disaster.

Earth first, we can strip mine the other planets later for the materials needed to make batteries & solar panels, then when the batteries wear out we can bury them in the desert.
It's not important the problem be solved, only that the blame for the mistake is assigned correctly

“There's a star man waiting in the sky
He'd like to come and meet us but he thinks he'd blow our minds
There's a star man waiting in the sky
He's told us not to blow it ’cause he know it's all worthwhile
    He told me :
    Let the children lose it
    Let the children use it
    Let all the children boogie”
