I use TMPGenc. to split mpeg files.
File>> MPEG Tools>> Merge and Cut.May the force be with you. -
Still very confused on how to split this 940MB VCD file i encoded already. This is my first time making a vcd. Sorry about being confused.
Could you help in a more extended way sense this is my first time trying to split a 940MB VCD file which i have no idea how to split with that program. I went where you said but i still do not understand how to split it exactly. -
Ok Here we go.
Click file go down to MPEG tools click on it. When tools open click on Merge and cut. You will see Type will be MPEG 1 Automatic. Change it if it is a MPEG 2 File you are trying to split. Click on add( Select the file you want to cut.) Goto Output and put where you want it to go and rename the file like (D:\Video\mpegfilepart01.mpeg or what ever drive and director and filename you use) now click on edit and you will see edit merge window. adjust the slider to where you want to cut the file then click on } and that where it will cut the file. Click ok and it will take a few miniuts to complete the cut. On the last part change output file name. Click edit again move slidert a few miniuts back click on { then move slider to end and Click } now click ok and it will do the last part. If you mess up don't worry. You still have the orginal file.May the force be with you. -
Tbear ok thanks. I was wondering what format should i choose when i split them? MPEG 1 Video CD, etc or what ? I know i made it at first i encoded it at video cd NTCS film. Also what do i do after i created two separate files? Remember i want to beable to watch it on a dvd player. Not a dvd player in the computer one that is on the tv.
Any help is very appreicated
Thanks -
BTW can i use nero to burn the files onto 2 cds? If i can use nero what options do i use and what type of format do i burn them onto cds with? iso, bin, cue, normal mpeg files like they are already, vcd format? Remember want to play them in a dvd player on a tv. Not a dvd rom in a computer.
Thanks. -
hi
i tried TMPGEnc to split files, the first file worked perfect but when i tried the second file it always froze, i looked for some other way and found a thing called MPEGTOOL it works perfect every time,
the only bad point is it there is no picture it works on time to split the files,
hope it helps you

Yeah but what file format do i make them when i split the file and what do i do after i make it 2 files? Can i use nero after making the 2 files? If i can what setting do i do on nero? And what kind of cd do i say i am making on nero? VCD or no ?

When you get the file split you can use Nero to Burn them as VCD.

Tbear ok but what file format do i put them in when i am splitting the files? Thats what i am sorta stuck on. Also is there any other certain setting i need to do in Nero or just burn them as VCD in nero only? Also when i play these vcds will it fill most of the 32 inch tv or will it be very small like on my computer at default size? Plus does the Philps DV910VHS dvd player play vcd cds? BTW its a dvd playrt and a VHS player. Its both.

hi,
u split the files into mpeg1, then burn with nero as VCD'S
just try it its very easy, it will fit any size tv screen,

It depends on the aspect ratio of the film. It may have black bars on top an bottom, which is fine. Just burn to a cd-rw dick and try it before you burn it to a cd-r

Make sure you specify 'MPEG1 VCD compliant' as file type. Otherwise Nero will give you an error message about your file not being VCD compliant.
