Hi Everyone!
I work with a team that currently is stuck capturing various tape formats on a Linux system to a custom-built version of Kino that requires firewire. We've been using Canopus ADVC300 for the TBC-like component to it, but several of our units over the years have stopped working.
I know they're old tech, and there are way better options nowadays. R&D is actually working on overhauling our system for current gen technology. Until we make headway there, we are stuck with the older hardware and Canopus boxes.
My main question is if anyone is aware of any troubleshooting tutorials for boxes that power on but don't work (no signal, cables swapped but didn't solve), or know of a place that repairs these? Again, we're working on moving away from these units, and this system, as quickly as possible, but for the time being are stuck using the current set up so with more of these boxes failing recently I am trying to canvas ways to bring these back into working order (or, replace them with comparable alternatives that accept firewire or buying the same from eBay which we are currently working on).
I appreciate the help anyone can provide!
