  1. Hi.

I have a low power projector so i understood that i better go with white paint.
I have two option to paint with the same white matte color shade:
    1)an art canvas or
    2)a white wall
to make them a screen for projector.
I would like to know what might reflect the image better(brightness, clearness)the painted
canvas or the painted white wall?
I assume that there are some variables which influence the quality image, but
i would like to know,in principle, what i better invest energy on?
    Thanks.

  2. If you go with paint, be sure you buy one that reflects the least.

Thanks,s-mp,but i am trying,at first,to figure out which option will give
better image after painting and used as a screen:art canvas or a wall?
After that,i will look for,as you said,a white paint that reflects the least.
Btw,white matte reflects the least, doesn't it?

  4. Assuming you're using the same paint, it comes down to which texture you find the least annoying.

For a low power projector, you need a high gain paint (reflects MOST, not least), specifically designed for projection. Though its benefit is lost if your texture is not already smooth. (So smoothening primer first) And high gain has lower Central area of reflective power, so you must watch more on-axis. You will also need low ambient light when using a low power projector, in order for the contrast to be decent enough.

Art canvas might seem smoother, but might also suffer from not being evenly perpendicular to the projection throughout the area.

  6. So,i understand that i need high reflective paint rather non reflective/low reflective paint.
The paints that made special for projectors are way too expensive, they even more expensive
    than my projector.
What about a titanium-white acrylic paint on canvas?I think that it is high reflective paint.
Will it be good on art-canvas?

    $75.?
If your projector is not as expensive as that, your biggest issue is going to be projection quality.

Do what you seem to already want to do. But you've been warned.

  8. The price that i saw around the web is a round the +$250,
even $75 is not cheap for 1Qt compare to regular finest wall paint.
What are they mixed with the paint?24k gold flakes?!
Anyway, this is not the main issue and this is beyond the spending threshold
i planned. My main issue was to find which one can be better:art-canvas or wall.
From Cornucopia explanation,i understand that canvas might be better.
Regarding the reflectivity, smrpix advised to choose a paint with least reflectivity,
(i guess that it is related to hot spots or something like that).
while Cornucopia,in oppose, advise to choose a paint that reflects most(not least),
since i have low power projector. So,i am a little confuse.
May you explain what is the problem to use white titanium acrylic paint on art-canvas
as a projector screen(emphasis on the paint itself)?won't it be better than standard white wall?
