I have been looking at the Visiontek Xtasy Everything 5564 $170 or just seen the Pinnacle Studio Deluxe for $200 after rebate. I am a newbee and for starters would like to put my analog vhs tapes on a cd for easy viewing. I don't have a digital camcorder, analog only and presently don't own a DVD player. The Visiontek Everything 5564 seems to also function as a video card so that would save me a few bucks building a new P4 1.6a pc but I'm not a gamer and any old video card would do. Will either of these products make this a painless process? There just seems to be so much hardware and software out there it gives me a headache looking through the User comments list trying to get ideas. Anyone have any exposure to either of these products or is there something else I should be looking at?

I recently intalled a Pinnacle Studio Deluxe card with the Studio 7 software. Capture quality is much better than my old MJPEG card and video quality has been very good. No problems with lip-syn, my 45 minute analog capture came out surprising very well. I using a Althon 1800XP system with Windows 2000 and lots of Hard Drive space. Micro Center Computers has the complete package on sale for $250.00. I also use MediaStudio Version 6.5 for final editing and everything seems to work great. Highly recommended.
