  1. Sorry if it's a dumb question, but is there a extension for Chrome that does what The Stream Detector does on Firefox?

    there is a version that does run on chrome (older version though). see this thread - https://github.com/rowrawer/stream-detector/issues/9
    you'll need to enable the "load unpacked extensions" for it to work.

  3. The crx in release section is for chrome.The Chrome version of The Stream Detector addon is not maintained or supported tho.

  4. simply download it from mozilla addons, extract with 7zip, then drag&drop folder into chrome extension page with enable dev mode

    Yes.

    Chrome version 112.0.5615.138
    Stream Detector version 2.11.3

    How did you install it though? Try loading a new unpacked version. You can have multiple versions loaded.

    How did you install it though? Try loading a new unpacked version. You can have multiple versions loaded.
    I enabled dev mode in chrome extensions n dragged the crx file into it and installed! It has a warning 'This extension is not listed in the Chrome Web Store and may have been added without your knowledge' and the enable extension button is greyed out.

    This is what you have to do.

    Visit the SD page using Firefox (or else Chrome tries to install it). Then download the Chrome extension (save it locally).

    Fire up WinRAR and open that Chrome file.

    Then extract the contents to a folder.

    Load that folder as an Unpacked Extension in Chrome.
