  1. I have uploaded my music collection to Youtube Music.
    Works great.

However I have lost my originals and want to download the music back to my HDD.

Is there anyway to do this other than using Google takeout?
I would be happy to use YTDL to get one particular album rather than exporting my entire library.

I can't seem to find an appropriate page/stream link from inspect console to paste into ytdl.

    Thanks all for your help.

    UPDATE - self answered

Was able to locate the audio track link using the 'down them all' extension, I'm sure there is a better way.

I was able to download the .m4a file using YTDL utilising exported cookies from Firefox to skip log in process.

    Command used:
    yt-dlp.exe --cookies cookies.txt -f 141 https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=..........

Feel free to delete thread or provide additional tips on how to locate audio track links without 'downthemall" extension.
It would be great to be able to use one command for the entire album/playlist rather than each track individually.

    Merging files
For additional info and future reference, I was able to merge the m4a's into one file (stand up comedian album) via the below command

    ffmpeg.exe -f concat -safe 0 -i mylist.txt -c copy JS.m4a

    mylist.txt
    file 'file 1.m4a'
    file 'file 2.m4a'
    ect

That's one way, but it's not the same quality as the file you uploaded

  3. If you log in to your channel and choose the video from the video manager, to edit it, in the top right corner, click the three dot icon and choose download.
This might not be ideal as you have to do them one at a time, but at least you get back your video.

It's saved my ass once or twice.

EDIT I see you solved this, it would be good to go back and add SOLVED to the thread title so it won't attract more replies.

  4. Not sure I have the download option for youtube music I have uploaded (not a video), I don't think my audio uploads appear on my own channel.
