How to ensure yt-dlp is getting 4K UHD from AMZN?

When I navigate to a video marked as being UHD and Dolby Atmos within AMZN and Paramount Plus, I think the link it is giving me is only for a 1080p video and AAC 2.0 audio (I think).

My PC has a 1080p monitor connected to it with the basic speakers (no surround sound). I wanted to download the videos using my PC and play them on my TV which can support 4K and surround sound. Is AMZN only giving me a link to their 1080p/2.0 audio version of their movie based on my PC's specs? Or is yt-dlp only getting the 'best' audio/video that it knows can be played on my PC?

Kinda yes and kinda no.
Getting keys to decrypt 4K content is pretty hard.
4K is supported on TVs and phones because they have better hardware protection.
Even if you have a 4K monitor I think Amazon will not let you watch 4K on your PC, at least not by default/legally.
You need something (kinda misleadingly) known as "cdm" which is hard to get.
Long story short, you can't get 4K. So, rely on torrents or satisfy your needs with 1080p.

People who can access the higher level keys are not going to disclose how on here or reddit. Lessons learned from the May revocation, I hope. And no matter who you are if you hit Amzn for even a couple of 4K downloads per 24 hours you will spook their servers and expect punitive issues. Unless you throttle download speed. No one actually watching a film is hammering it down at the rate that yt-dlp+aria2c can. Think about it.......when you're "speeding up your downloads".

Having your own personal L1 CDM could help, but isn't the only solution for 4K. Having a personal L1 CDM is not the answer just on its own, there are other factors involved. And good luck with purchasing one on the dark web, even if you know how to implement it with proxies.

Amzn spend millions on their API and theirs is different / unique to NF, D+ and others, and will even be exclusive to themselves and personally developed rather than proprietory. There are no out of the box, one click GUI solutions for L1 WV. And even if there were, what works on Amzn wouldn't work on D+ or NF.

Plus expect this thread to get banned because its discussing Amzn.
