Been using avidemux for years and probably my fave edit prog, simple and fast with good results.Well, decided other day to get latest version 2.7.8. But starting to wish I kept the old version.
Dont know if its just me, but often find when you upgrade to latest versions, whether it be websites or programs, they often seem worse than the older one you replaced.
With latest AviDemux it takes longer to load a file and even worse on larger files often you get "cant go to next keyframe' and its stuck, which almost never happened with older prog.
Only thing that was slightly better before you had to choose mp4 or mp4V2 now its just mp4.
On reflection rather have the older version, which was less problematic re keyframes and faster to load, probably go back to that one.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

Nothing to stop you uninstalling and replacing with an old version. They're all here, take you pick

yep already done that.. could not remember which older version but opted for 2.7.1 ..works much better

well in theory yes, but its happening a lot after using latest version, before hardly ever had that prob. In fact, as i said reinstalled older version, and then tried same files again and worked no prob at all, so looks like it is a version prob, not source file

Maybe the improved, latest version is telling you something that:
1. It didn't have the capability before - so its now genuine
2. You may not want to admit there is a problem with your iptv or source file ?
Addendum: I get this a lot with avidemux and espn+ content - mainly raw downloaded .ts files - but rather than it being an inconvenience; I trust its finding irregularities in the stream that I can correct. And it only happens during the commercial breaks with certain still frames, which need to be edited out anyway. -

I dont know if there is anything wrong with source file, never said anything either way. It may be prob and maybe not. I dont know, I am not the Einstein of the video world. Main thing is, it now works fine and so do all the other files, I had probs with using new version, so I am sticking with older version it works and quality is as good! -
Upon quick testing, about a year ago, I did notice some definite regressions with recent versions of Avidemux, especially regarding its CLI mode (I tested with version 2.7.6) :

Are the new versions good to se? I do not want bad quality videos.

Latest version isn't 2.7.8. I suggest you try v2.7.9 64bit nightly http://www.avidemux.org/nightly/
2.7.1 is a very old version, there have been a whole lot of changes since then. You can have multiple versions installed concurrently by doing a portable install. -
But is it good to use? I am looking for something that can allow me to stream copy mkv and mp4 files without trouble.

Avidemux v2.7.9 x64 dev has some bugfixes, upgrades and usability improvements vs v2.7.8.
It is expected to work just fine, but is supported if required. -
Avidemux is a native QT gui program, not a gui built on top of a cli program.
Not enough users/devs for the cli version probably.
