I am just recording an IPTV channel via VLC. I have right clicked the channel I am watching and then clicked Record in the menu. I can see the record button is active. But where is the VLC recording it? Couldn't find anything named 'Recording folder' or similar in the options. And I'm afraid to touch anything once the show is finished. What should I do to stop the recording properly and keep it? And where to find it afterwards?

Thanks. It wasn't there but rather in C:\Users\Username\Documents

I've searched the C disk with the keyword "vlc" and found it that way.

Still, how to change the default path in the VLC settings, I have no idea, can't find it.

Maybe changing the default directory for snapshots, which is also C:\Users\Username\Documents, will also change the directory for recordings.

I used to do this many moons ago. Very hit 'n miss. Better to feed the individual channels m3u8 into OBS

Check the stream's parameters and load the appropriate setting - resolution, bitrate, fps, etc

OBS > Sources > VLC Video Source >

I use OBS daily in my profession - hmu if you need any advice.
