Is there an elegant solution for watching YT on my tv?

My firestick lite arrived today.

It took around 15 minutes to hook it up, let it update and run.

I have to say, sitting on my sofa, speaking to a remote control, 'YOUTUBE' and then telling Alexa to show me Super8 Rescue, is a breeze.

Doesn't get more elegant than that imo. I am loving this.

'Ark Royal video at Super8 Rescue' and there it is on my 50" THX PLasma. Talking to the remote is priceless.

I asked my remote to show me my cat YT channel Fluffy Bum, and there it is... so easy, no typing, no searching, no clicking. and she doesn't mind the word bum.

JOB DONE!

Not a single mouse click.

Not a single USB lead or keyboard in sight.

Running on 2.4ghz wifi at the moment but I will turn on my 5ghz wifi once I get my head round the router settings.

And just to be on the safe side, so Alexa can't hear me snoring, the Firestick gets it's power turned off at the wall when not in use!

If there was one downside, I am not keen on the interface, but using the mic on the remote should get around that once I am used to it.

Endless giggles asking Alexa for farts

Instead of the usual biased news, or horrible ITV local news at tea time, Alexa has found a back to back cat channel on Pluto tv.

Lovely. No harry Hill voice over, no canned laughter, no stupid music, just cats....

The cartoon adverts are a change from the usual sofa sale ads.

I am happy to report that the firestick has been streaming Pluto tv for three hours, on 2ghz wifi

The dongle is not even warm, no buffering.

I am on twisted copper pair broadband to the street, then fibre.

That is £22 well spent. 3 hours of cats without Harry Hill
