    Hi all!

    I would like to ask ,what is the near equivalent bitrate setting for :

    AC3 5.1 640 kbps to AAC 5.1 xxx kbps ?

    I know its not a good idea to transcode a lossy audio to another lossy format,but i dont care...
    So,who can tell me?

    whatever you want. ac3 at 640 is over dvd spec to start with so as high as you want they aren't very different.

    For aac 5.1 use 384kbs.

    Anywhere from 224 to 256kbps should be perceptually transparent for 5.1 aac for most.
