Playing VCD in stand alone player

Need help all, Please.
Ok I'm burning mpg vcd's with Nero. using it's vcd templet, I go to
play it in my Philips DVD953 home player & it plays for a minute then it will just freeze up on me. Any Ideas what is up with this?
I have the new Nero I'm burning on a read write at 4x I just can't
figure out what is up. It is doing this with just about all the VCD & SVCD'S I burn, So something is wrong. I have had some success with a few so I know my player will play them. Please Help.

possible scratch/fingerprint/dust? always best to check the obvious

Ok did that, I think I need to clean the laser on the player.
Because I tried it in my portable & it played fine. Know of a good DVD laser lens cleaner? Or should I take it in to a shop to get cleaned?

I just cleaned my Philips with someting called Hyperbrush from Trackmate and it's very OK now!
