  1. I cannot play burnt VCD's on my computer ever since I upgraded to XP. I have searched the web for an answer but all I found was people with the same problem. The Mpeg file(before burning) plays fine. And of coarse the VCD plays great on my stand alone DVD player. I used to be able to play them when I had Windows ME.
    Help!!!!!

    :x

I'm having the exact same problem... I was able to play VCDs fine in Win98 SE, but when I upgraded to XP it's impossible... I tried about 10 players... all of them hang.

I can't even copy the .dat file to my harddrive... it gives me a "cyclic redundancy check" error...

I'll try and find something... if u find, will you let me know?

    thanks

I just found out it's a problem with my CD-ROM-RW (a LG model: GCE-8240B) drive... I went to the page and downloaded its documentation... it says there it can only play VCDs with a separate interface card... weird hun?

I already contacted them about it... and I'm waiting for a reply.

    Regards
