And it is not done with yt-dlp, rather with bento4's mp4decrypt.exe

I misunderstood, because i thought some videos are unable to be downloaded with popular downloaders like yt-dl and that's why i assumed we need keys to be able to download.

But i'm still confused a bit, if i'm unable to download from the site above (sports.nhk.or.jp) using IDM or yt-dlp, does that mean the video is undownloadable or does that mean wv keys are needed first or anything?

There's no such thing as undownloadable video when it can be played in a browser, wiser men have said.

If yt-dlp gives you 403, it means it needs more parameteres like user agent, referrer and whatnot or maybe another url.

then if you open dev tool to search mpd video stops then you need external sniffer to capture http traffic. search on google how to.

Usually with built-in developer tools of the browser.
However, this site prevents you doing that.
Therefore, you need external application that will intercept network traffic.
You can try HTTP Debugger PRO.

mp4 is video

Most of the times you need to decrypt video and audio separately, then merge them with ffmpeg.
But sometimes, audio is not encrypted and you just need to decrypt video.

Use mediainfo to see if the audio is encrypted, or simply try to play with VLC. If it plays fine, you don't need to decrypt it. If it plays weird noise, it is encrypted and needs to be decrypted.

Yeah, the audio didn't play at all even if i click the play button so i knew it was encryped.

Now i have decryped the audio and the video and muxed them with ffmpeg, this is a nightmare if you want to download and do this for multiple videos.

Do you know if there is a kind of script or anything that can simplify this?

but is python script, need no video link, but token generated by server, and other some parameters. not easy for you.

The real length is supposed to be between 04:53:26

VLC usually plays them before merging.
But Potplayer sometimes doesn't.
