    Yes, it does.
With NordVPN because I'm not from Canada.
With companion app installed for DownloadHelper.
    On Firefox.
    Windows 10.

When are you getting the 403?
Can you play the video in your browser?
If you can, DownloadHelper will get it.
I was getting 403 when I was using the other tools you mentioned.

Try different NordVPN servers (with bigger numbers), make sure you have set NordVPN DNS in your network. Contact NordVPN support if you cant play the videos in your browser.

  18. problem is not nordVPN or ExpressVPN...
you have put on yt-dl a generic url, not url to one video file....
this is generic page which you used with yt-dl -----> https://www.cbc.ca/player/sports/olympics/replays
this is link to one video (first video) ----> https://www.cbc.ca/player/play/1916120131606

Dude... please look at the screenshot once again, I already explained you.
1st try I put generic link (wrong)
2nd try I put one video specific link, I even copy pasted from you, 403 forbidden.

  25. kpt21 if you're out of Canada, you need a better VPN, better than the one you have now...
if you are in canada, then you get something wrong because the command works. update yt-dl to latest version 2021.06.06

  26. The cmd works, just not with NordVPN, tried ExpressVPN the most videos are good to download.

However, this particular one doesn't seem to be the case: https://www.cbc.ca/979f034e-fd5f-425b-80ac-0b9a18a436a6. I tried with different expressVPN server but not working, would someone please try if it works on their end?

Do you know if it's even playable? It was a live stream, and easily could've just been removed or moved to VOD section
