1. I tried several browser add-ons that download Instagram videos, and they all work but none downloads that highest quality video available. For example this video

https://www.instagram.com/p/CRYnWsxJmgk/

If I use any add-on to download this one, I only get the 1138 x 640 version.

If I want the highest quality video, I have to download the DASH file, then open it, and in it I see this

I then need to copy the location of the 1280 x 720 video, paste it in a notepad, then replace & with & and paste the altered address in the browser and save the video then do the same with the audio file and finally mux the two streams together.

Is there a software that spares me all this manual labor and saves the highest quality video from Instagram easily? Thanks

only resolution 1138 x 640 is available. no other.
640 X 1138, actually
I used youtube-dl and it also said there is only one resolution available.

Thank you. Here is the link I got from the DASH file for the 1280 x 720 video. Hope it won't expire by the time you see it.

https://scontent.cdninstagram.com/v/t50.2886-16/217340741_171874904936448_168616947264..._nc_sid=83d603

If it expires, I also uploaded it to gofile

https://gofile.io/d/MRlBto

I see no evidence of upscaling, and comparing single frames magnified appears to show that the 1280 x 720 video is indeed a higher quality version.

What do you think?

I think you should go to Facebook and with youtube-dl download yourself a proper 1920x1080 horizontal version

Thank you very much for searching. I'm actually not interested in this video, just used it as an example. I was instead hoping there was a way to obtain the highest quality videos from Instagram without doing all the steps I listed

11. yes. the theme of the thread is not the single video, but how to immediately get a link in high definition of the video.
which, however, seems not to be available on play of the video, but you have to search for it in the dash link.

What do you expect from Instagram? It's made to be used on small phone screens.

I can't even find the dash file in dev tools network

Can you rephrase your whole process once again? Didn't quite get it.
And how did you managed to find that way in the first place?
