    Confused about frame rates

I have two downloads of the same source. One has a frame rate of 29.97 and the other is 24. I brought them both into AviUtl. The frames from both videos line up exactly. Even when I switch to showing frames vs time on the scale. I don't understand this. I thought the 24 would have less frames.

This is good for me because the better quality download has a logo and the lower quality one does not. Now I can make a mask over the logo and let the other source display instead. I think this will be better than trying the logo removal techniques. I have not tried yet. I do not think I will be able to see the difference at the logo spot. I may have to tweak the brightness and contrast on the lesser quality one.

But I do not understand why they do not have a different number of frames.

    Re: Confused about frame rates

Wild guess: the first source is (soft) telecined, thus really only contains 24 (23.976) frames per second.
