I have a friend in Florida and he needs a couple of tapes cleaned so he can play them properly. Is there anyone with a TapeChek machine or even just has the ability to remove mold from VHS tapes relatively cheap or even a service there that does such a thing?

There are services that claim to be able to help, I've not used them, can't vouch for any of them,
you'll have to send the tape(s) in, For example,
