    Hi! Need help, please

I need to convert video file in high resolution 1080p from my MacBook (or PC), to Sony HVR-M25U (this device has dv in which allows to use firewire for that), I don't understand how to send video from MacBook via firewire to Sony HVR, so that I don't loose quality, because at the moment I get strange artifacts like stripes and etc. through rca and s-video.

    Thank you in advance!

I don't know about Mac but for PC I used Vegas Pro 13 with print to tape option, You can do DV or HDV, There is no lossless way, Videos have to be rendered to HDV 1440x1080i to comply with HDV format unless you happen to have the exact HDV files on hard drive and you just want to print them back to tape.

afaik the hvr-m25u is a mini-DV/HDV deck. it plays/records to 1080i/p mini-dv tape in HDV format. the only way to properly transfer the tape to a computer is over firewire. and the same applies to transferring from the computer back to the cam. firewire 400 not 800.
