Seems I haven't played with video conversions for what seems like 10 yrs going by my posts here so hopefully I can get some pointers.

My Synology DS218j NAS (low end) has a mix of my DVD ISOs and VOB folders with was fine back in my HTPC/WMC days.
Now I pretty much just use a Chromecast w. Google TV and a networked Sony UBP-X700 BD player for viewing.

What's the best way forward to move everything to one format that's friendly to the CC/BD devices, hopefully maintaining 'chapter' locations ?

    Thanks very much.

  2. The Chromecast+GoogleTV handles pretty much everything. The BD player is going to be the limiting factor. Easiest is probably Handbrake, converting to AVC/AAC or AVC/AC3 in MP4.

Handbrake uses variable frame rate for conversions by default. Use the constant frame rate setting to ensure compatibility with a wider range of devices and player software.

    Thank you.
Are maintaining chapter points a possibility ? (most of my fav discs are concerts)
Any conversion presets recommended for Handbrake?

  5. Handbrake will keep chapters.
