is MadVR still alive? What's the alternative?

Used it many years ago for upscaling all my crummy looking 720p videos. What's the best current day solution for upscaling？

On PC with a discrete graphics card, MadVR or Mpv are typically used for realtime high quality (sharpness) upscaling of video content, with various possible upscalers for Luma and Chroma.

Seeing that what they over seems to be some media player which looks like a pc system, my guess is that they are struggling with the general gpu prices,... (especially assuming that the general chip crisis might be with us for quite some time,..)
