mpc-hc jump forward/back not consistent in time.

I use the left and right button to ff or rewind in small jumps but it has this thing thats annoying where it doesnt go by seconds but seems to be stuck in parts of the movie. if I want to go back it wont go back an exact amount every time. its like its jumping in many little chapters. anyway to bypass this and make it jump, say 2-3 seconds back in movies time consistently throughout the video? .

Turn off fast seeking. Options -> Tweaks.

it seems to work but the first button press it seems to go back 1/4 of a second back and the 2nd seems to go back a few seconds. any reason why it doesnt just go back a few seconds?

is mpc the best player out there for win7?

I don't think there's a "best". It's largely a matter of personal need and preference. MPCHC is my main player. I also have MPCBE, VLC, PotPlayer, and SMPlayer that I occasionally use for testing (some of them haven't been updated in years).
